What to Expect

Your initial visit will typically last about an hour, as we take time to go through a history, movement assessment, and develop a treatment plan. Follow up visits are 30-60 minutes and may include manual therapy, education, and a home exercise program. All treatment plans are individually tailored depending on your injury, needs, and goals. Please wear flexible clothing that allows you to move, and allow for assessment of the area (eg. shorts for a lower body injury, tank top or sports bra for upper body).

About Telerehabilitation

Telerehabilitation involves using a secure videoconferencing portal to provide online physiotherapy services. This allows for both assessment and follow up appointments when in-person visits are not possible (such as with physical distancing restrictions). New assessments will be scheduled for an hour, and follow ups will be scheduled for 30 minutes. These sessions will be similar in structure to a typical physio appointment including a thorough history, movement assessment, education, and exercise prescription. Unfortunately hands on treatment is not possible with this type of consult. Many different musculoskeletal conditions can be appropriate for telerehabilitation including both acute and chronic conditions, especially if there is a heavy focus on home exercises as part of treatment.

Note: Telerehabilitation is not appropriate for everyone. If you have questions about whether Telerehab is for you, feel free to contact me at tamara.poropat.pt@gmail.com
